Creative Manager

Surya is seeking a highly motivated and proven Creative Design Manager to provide print and digital design solutions that have high visual impact and help present our brand to customers in a breakthrough way. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in translating brand messages into powerful visual designs and will demonstrate creative flair and a professional approach to feedback, time, costs, and deadlines. There is no lack of exciting projects to work on in our fast paced and fluid environment!

Responsibilities

  • Leads, directs, mentors and evaluates direct reports. 
  • Translate business and marketing objectives into designs that are clear, compelling, visually exciting, easy to understand and on brand.
  • Ensuring all creative production is executed on-time, on-strategy and on-budget.
  • Plan, manage, and execute the comprehensive workflow of all assignments for the creative team to ensure all deadlines are met and approved files are uploaded on time, all facts are accurate, the brand is presented in the most favorable view and headline/product hierarchy is prioritized to meet strategic needs of the company.  Outputs include, but not limited to: printed and digital marketing collateral, including advertisements, bi-annual catalogs, multi-faceted brochures, tradeshow graphics, POP signage and product packaging/labels. Informational sales materials including PowerPoint presentations, graphics, and data. 
  • Assist in defining scope for design projects and coordinating production needs with vendors
  • Contribute and adhere to a comprehensive integrated content calendar to ensure a consistent message across all customer outputs 
  • Contribute to the evolution of the brand image and success by conducting creative audits and critiques on minimum of a quarterly basis to consistently aim for greater quality and impact.

REQUIREMENTS 

  • Bachelor’s degree in visual communications, graphic design, advertising or related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in print and digital media within a creative team environment (strong print experience is an absolute MUST!)
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience in graphic design 
  • Experience in managing a graphic deliverables calendar and delivering projects on time, on spec and on budget 
  • Some experience with B2B marketing preferred
  • Excellent communication skills are a must 
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Creative Cloud, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Bridge, Acrobat) on a Mac OSX platform
  • Proficiency with image manipulation, color-correction, scanning, etc.; knowledge of HTML and CSS a plus
  • Strong design portfolio (imagery, typography, layout, branding)
  • Ability to take an existing brand and creative assets and adapt and re-format design elements among many different pieces of collateral (print and digital)
  • Insistence on high quality work with a perfectionist focus on detail
  • Ability to work well under pressure, keeping track of projects, timelines and deadlines and continually communicating them with the team
  • Ability to work on site in our corporate headquarters just north of Cartersville
